Articles and Wiki pages are similar... but different. ;-)
Both:
- Accept full wiki syntax, plugins, and modules.
- Can use the wiki or WYSIWYG editor
- Can include other Tiki features (such as tags, categories, comments, permissions, etc.)
But there are some important differences:
Wiki pages
- Allow you to maintain a full history (diff)
- Can have page-specific permissions
Articles
- In addition to categories, articles include two additional methods of categorization: Type and Topic
- Have a single author field
- In addition to letting readers rate the content, the author can assign a rating for the article
- Can have an "expiration" date
