    I believe the Homepage URL field for users refers to there personal (external) site that will appear in the user's info. For example, my "homepage" is TikiForSmarties.com and is shown when you click my avatar to see my user information.

    You can create a custom (site) homepage per group (see the docs for details) and each user can have their personal/userpage (see the docs).
