username in wiki?

Hi there,

Is there a way to use the username value, or the current date, page name, etc., as dynamic data in wiki syntax?

There actually are dynamic variable and dynamic content features but I'm quite sure they won't tackle my needs...

I don't think you can do this with wiki syntax directly, but you should be able to create a wiki plugin that can do this.

You just need to grab the $user variable and then display it.

I feared you'd answer that. 😉

That's another story then. I'll try to build the plugin when I get extra time. It doesn't look that complicated, though.

Hi mytto,

I would like to do exactly the same. Did you get it to work?

If you managed to get this working, there is no need for me to go through the hazzle.

Unfortunately no.
I didn't find time to do so, as my need was not worth the pain.
Don't hesitate to contact us if ever you write such a plugin !

I did a quick experiment, and it showed out to be quiete simple.

I attached the file.

I don't have a CVS setup, so if it is found worthy to be a part of tikiwiki, could somone please check it in.
