    hi,

    newbie here. what a great application! was able to install and am trying out the image gallery. images display in the order they are uploaded — is there a way to reorder them?

    Hi solo,
    you should be able to reorder them with the 5 links at top of the display page.

    hi Chealer9,

    you mean the sort buttons? is there no way to manually decide which goes first, next, etc.?

    Been a while since I was playing in the admin area of image galleries, but I think you can set up some ordering from in there.

    Its also not hard to modify the sort order via the PHP and TPL settings.

    hi Damian,

    thanks. i'll have to learn php (not a bad idea) and add this feature myself since i can't seem to find it in any of the photo galleries out there. the feature is to allow me to specify the order of my slide show after i have uploaded my pics. as it is currently, the slide show displays in the order the pics were uploaded, or sorted by one of 5 criteria (this sort feature that all photo galleries provide does not quite make sense, really). one more field to store in the database (defaulted to order of upload or sort criteria used) to specify sort order, field that the user can change, and that the slide show will use to present the images.

    Did you ever do it?

    I've knocked up a suitable fix for this feature which can be downloaded from
    here.

    Also I've written it up a little bit on UserPageRussWilde

    Basically all you get is one extra option on the edit image gals page, a drop-down box in which you can specify which ordering method you'd like to use for your images from all of the existing sort methods already in tiki.

    Users can still re-order images as they wish in the normal way, but links to the gallery from tiki-galleries.php and tiki-browse_gallery.php will use the default order method you specify.
