Categories "permission denied" - newbie question

Hi
Probably being stupid here but can't work it out

Currently I;ve various pages categorised and, when I'm logged in (as admin), I can:
a) view them in the top left of the application menu
b) browse by them from the categorised wiki pages

I don;t know what I've done, but other non-admin users can't do either of the above. For a), there is no link to the "categories" pages, and for b), they get permission denied.

My guess is that I've toggled a permissions thing somewhere by mistake, but any clues to how - or how to fix the problem, would be hugely appreciated!
Thanks v much

P

Hi;
the default setting is that Anonymous can not see the Categories.

you can change that and a bunch of other stuff (like chat axcess) at

tiki-assignpermission.php?group=Anonymous

Or, Admin menu, Groups, key icon, (permissions) then fiddle around!

Hope that helps, James

Thanks for that James! Did some fiddling around, as you suggested, and finally found the relevant permissions setting.

For the record it was: tiki_p_view_categories.

There are a number of questions like that appear quite often. We should have a way to click and transform an answer into a FAQ, into a Doc page, etc...

That would be a nice development of tw. Would bring an immense gain of time.

Wiki spirit is to accumulate and organize knowledge, not to write things that disappear with time, like in spip.
