Format for User Batch Upload

Greetings,

I am trying to find the format for the User Batch upload. According to the help on tikiwiki it should be username, password, email address.

I have tried several combinations and stil no lock. Has anyone successfully used this?

My examples are:

first.last,first.last,first.last@company.com
first,last,first.last@company.com

I have turned off requiring letter and number in password and I have dropped the limit to 3 characters (the shortest last name). Everything I get the following error:

Batch Upload Results
Added users: 0 - Rejected users: 64

Username Reason
User login is required
User login is required
User login is required
(this is repeated 64 times)

Any help would be appreciated.

You need a first line that describe the fields:

login,password,email,groups
And after data lines. ex:
user1,password1,email1,'group1,group2'
user2, password2,email2

Hi, Sylvie.

I manage to do a batch user upload, but not batch group assignment. What could be the the cause of the problem?

At the same time, the Admin Group feature seems a little buggy or clunky:
1. How do I set the default number of rows to be displayed? 10 rows is too few.
2. When I try to use the Manage Group Assignment feature, only the first 10 groups are shown, and there was no Next button. How do I assign groups that are not listed?

Truly hope you can help me here. In the midst of some live projects with teaching staff now.

rgds,
jo

The groups must exist

Which tiki release. In 1.9, there is a number of rows at the top

Do you have a next page at the bottom (ok not the best when a lot of groups)

Yes, had created them earlier.

i'm using 1.9.1. Yes, have tried setting the rows through the box at the top. But have to do so every time i try to view groups. Can i set it in a file or feature somewhere and have the number of rows always be say, 20?

The strange thing is after i have chosen "Manage Group Assignment", the listing of groups is usually incomplete. Only once did i actually saw a next page at the bottom. But clicking it didn't help somehow. Couldn't assign selected users to a group listed in the second page somehow.

The default is the default number of rows (in admin ->general). So you can change it for every table. If you want only for this teble, you have to change the code:
in tiki-admingroups.php or tiki-adminusers.php, change $numrows=$maxRecords to $numrows=100;

Try this option to see if you see more
Use direct pagination links in admin -> general

I advice you to to update to 1.9.2 , it will be easier to help you. I know that I fixed some part about user batch upload recently... It is easy . See details at UpgradeTo192

This is useful.

Already have this on. Makes no diff.

Thanks for the advice. Yes, have upgraded to 1.9.2 now. I have a few more questions - this time related to the installation. Will post in the other forum.
